Latest Government guidance:

Main symptoms

The main symptoms of coronavirus are:

·         a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

·         a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

·         a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Most people with coronavirus have at least 1 of these symptoms.

What to do if you have symptoms

If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus:

1.       Stay at home (self-isolate) – do not leave your home or have visitors. Anyone you live with, and anyone in your support bubble, must also self-isolate.

2.       Get a test – get a test to check if you have coronavirus as soon as possible. Anyone you live with, and anyone in your support bubble, should also get a test if they have symptoms.

 St Mary’s Surgery Action

In Response to the Corona Virus we have made changes to our appointment system – We are limiting face-to-face contact for the time being.

Our Receptionists will offer you a Telephone appointment with the GP – who will then triage your symptoms over the telephone. If they then feel you need to be seen, they will offer you a face-to-face appointment at the Surgery.

WE DO ASK THAT ALL PATIENTS WHO ATTEND A FACE-TO-FACE APPOINTMENT WEAR A FACE COVERING FOR THEIR APPOINTMENT.

·         Repeat medication can be ordered through your local pharmacy

·         Sick notes can be requested over the telephone and we will post them to your home address

Our Practice Nurse is still holding weekly clinics - she can offer urgent blood tests, baby immunisations, hormone injections & contraception injections. Cervical Smear testing resumed 1st June 2020 - please call the surgery to book your appointment.

When you arrive on Pinfold Health Centre carpark, please call Reception to inform us you are here for your appointment. You will then receive a call when you can come into the building & the Doctor or Nurse will come to the main Reception to collect you.

We appreciate your understanding at this time

 Thank you
